Cook Islands Boats and other Sea Craft
Big and Small , built for business or pleasure
Cruising Yachts, cargo ships our regular Cook Islands boats for fishing, be it long liners bottom fishing or those that bring in the much sought after flying fish ( Maroroa ) make it a colorful and exciting place to be, down on the Avatiu harbour art Rarotonga.
Here you can see the super luxury yachts, the Naval patrol boat, cruising yachts, rusty dingys and those pirates of the open ocean who have been escorted back to harbour for illegally fishing in the Cook Islands exclusion zone
Rarotonga in the Cook Islands only have a limited number of months where cruising yachts and pleasure craft can safely moor in our harbour. Cyclone season is well known and MOST of those yachties and boaties steer well clear of the polynesian islands at these time.
Cargo vessels and trading boats of old have not always been so lucky in picking the right time, and as such the waters and reefs have a story to tell of their own.
